MY CREATIVE PROCESS
When creating this project, my creative process consisted of many revisions. At the start, I had many ideas as to how it could work, possible characters, and endings. As time went on, the story and character were refined and downsized. Learning to "Kill my Darlings" made it easier to abandon ideas that weren't realistic in the time frame. Additionally, a good portion of time was spent writing, drawing, and designing the story map of the game. Episodes of writer's and artist's block were quite frequent, but using the techniques learned to instill creativity, I found myself having an easier time avoiding running into a block. For example, I would take mindful walks and take in the environment around me or go to sleep thinking of the problem and allowing my brain to attempt to solve the problem in my dreams. One of the best ways to organize this project was to use many sticky notes with all the individual ideas I had for it. Because they can be easily moved around, it helps keep track of all the important elements, even when they are changing frequently and story moments or characters can be added and organized easier.
